I decided to pop into one
of our homing days, Croydon Branch of Cats Protection (CPL), on the 7th
July 2012 to see the cats and have a cup of tea with the girls, little
did I know what would happen!
As I was enjoying my tea and chat I happened to look over my shoulder
only to lock eyes with a very large ginger cat called, that was it, he
was collected two days later and moved in with us.
The first thing we did was to choose a new name for him and as he is gold,
well nearly, we decided to call him Oscar and then gently introduce him
to our other cats. Oscar decided that he was going to be top cat and boss
the others around, thankfully he did calm down fairly soon.
He is a lovely boy and we are very pleased he found us!!!
In May 2024 Oscar became very ill and was taken to the vet where he was
diagnosed with Acute Pancreatitis, he spent a week having treatment and
made a complete recovery.
Later in the same year he was found to have developed Hyperthyroidism,
he is being treated with Thyronorm and having regular blood test, the
problem is well controlled.
